Maitre’D (m/f)

We are currently searching for a well-experienced Maitre´D (m/f) for a well-known 5* American Cruise Line with great great itineries throughout the world and international passengers.

The position is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Restaurant appointed to - which could be a main restaurant or a specialty restaraunt and other food service outlets throughout the ship towards the goal of achieving total guest satisfaction following company policies.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 1. In accordance with Company Standards of Safety, Service and Style, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and crewmember areas. 2. Directs, coaches, supports, supervises and evaluates (in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager) the performance of all direct reports. 3. Ensures that all Specialty Restaurant staff is trained and performs their duties according to the United States Public Health rules and regulations. 4. Responsible for the general maintenance of the Specialty Restaurant, reporting any repair or replacement needs to the Food & Beverage Manager. 5. Communicates daily with the Food & Beverage Manager, Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef regarding service in the Specialty Restaurant. 6.Communicates daily with the Bar Manager regarding wine and beverage service in the restaurant.

Candidates must have ship experience in a similar position and have an excellent knowledge in this field and should work for the satisfaction of the guest under the requirements and standards of the cruise company.

You should have a well-groomed appearance, have an open personality - as well as a great eye for details, while staying focused on the target and be stress-resistant - an exceptional written and oral communication skill is a must and you should be a positive, open minded person. You should have advanced USPH knowledge, be well organized and must be a team player. The position requires the ability to motivate, lead and support an international team.

Fluent English is required any additional language would be a plus - also required: excellent computer skills.
