International Host/ess - German

Main function:

The International Host/ess is the ‘socially visible’ organiser on the ship. Able to organise, arrange and host social events where necessary delegating and involving other members of the cruise team. Able to immediately resolve minor passenger issues, deal with insurance activations & Medical Disembarks where necessary and actively promote & sell the future cruise programme.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Preparation and arrangement of all pre-paid Gift Packs
• Preparation and arrangement of all pre-paid Birthday and Wedding celebrations.
• Add depth, intelligence and freshness to all onboard functions and activities
• Co-ordinate with the Hotel Dept on all Solo Cruisers and any repeater functions
• Escort on shore excursions where required
• Prepare in advance of each cruise itinerary, a plan of required passenger activities Organising, overseeing and delegating where necessary all social passenger functions and information (including library and card room programmes)
• Co-ordinating all overseeing all Future Cruise bookings and desk hours.
• Arranging table invites for dinner where required
• Translate the daily programme and any other documentation as required.
• Host a daily desk for all international passengers.

Certificate Requirements:

• Personal Survival Techniques STCW - Ref. A-VI/1-1
• Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting - STCW Ref. A-VI/1-2
• Elementary First Aid - STCW Ref. A-VI/1-3
• Personal, safety and social responsibilities STCW A-VI/1-4
• Crowd Management Ref. A – V/2 Par 1-3 or A – V/3 Par 1-3
• Security Awareness Ref. A-VI/6 -1
• ENG 1 Medical
• Valid passport
• Seaman’s Book - National or Bahamian Seaman’s Books only

You will have a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar role, be highly organized, a good administrator and be fluent in both written and spoken German.
