IT and Communications Superintendent

Saga Cruises has selected Faststream to be their exclusive recruitment partner to assemble their site team in the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg who will supervise the construction of two 999 passenger 57,000 ton luxury cruise ships that are due for delivery mid 2019 and mid 2020.

We are currently looking for an IT & Comms Superintendent who will report to the Site Manager to oversee the construction and commissioning of the vessel within this expert discipline. You will act as main local IT infrastructure support (including hardware, network and applications) and help desk point of contact and trouble shooter for the site team. Through regular and unscheduled inspections, tests and trials, progress reports, identifying risks etc you will ensure the highest possible standards of construction from the shipyard and its suppliers.

You will have in-depth knowledge and experience in the supervision of modern cruise ship IT and Communication systems, applications and equipment focusing on telephony, high speed data services, SATcom, video and entertainment etc You will ideally have knowledge and work experience with IT infrastructures and software application support. You will have the ability to lead related technical disciplines and have small team management experience. Prior experience working in Northern Germany would be advantageous.

You will be degree qualified or have a high professional level of equivalent relevant experience as a Marine Electronics Engineer or IT & Comms commissioning/support engineer
