International Host/ess (Cruise Ship) - $ Competitive salary per month on board

ARM is seeking candidates for International Host/ess positions on board some of the most prestigious cruise ships travelling the world.
Whilst being responsible for providing personalized customer service, language assistance and translation to non- Spanish speaking guests to enhance their enjoyment of the experience, the main responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to the following.

  • Reads and collects all information related to international guests from the special requirements, memo and other written information communicated by head office and prepares the welcome letters to be distributed in cabins occupied by international guests.
  • Embarkation Duties: Available at the terminal for the check- in in order to assist the non-Spanish speaking guests with the check-in process.
  • Schedules and conducts a welcome onboard meeting by language in order to provide information about the cruise, itinerary, promotions etc. Based on the number of the various nationalities. Scheduling of additional meetings with different nationalities might be required.
  • Performs assigned duties for a specified amount of time daily at the Guest Service Area as per the schedule assigned by the Guest Relations Manager. Attends desk hours at the Front Desk.
  • Answer inquiries, offers suggestions, and provides descriptive literature in various languages pertaining to shore excursions, onboard activities, entertainment etc.
  • Welcomes non- Spanish speaking guests in the Restaurant on the first evening of the cruise and the formal night will participates in Captain's Cocktail Party by introducing international guests to the Captain.
  • Participate in activities: Renewal of wows, birthdays and anniversary celebrations if international guests are involved on the celebration.
  • Serve as translator for any and all departments when foreign language translation is needed.
  • Translate announcements over the public announcement system. On the stage with The Cruise Director when required. Languages in which the announcements are to be made during the voyage have to be agreed by the Hotel Director (prime parameter is the number of guests speaking the same language).
  • Translates all varieties of documents and announcements including the daily program into the different languages. Reviews and ensures the accuracy of all materials distributed to guests.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Ability to speak, read and write English with an additional language mix of the following: Russian, French, German.
  • Experience in Hotels, cruise line or hospitality industry related field preferred.
  • Required to operate basic office equipment including telephone, computers and copy machines.
  • Cash handling experience and an understanding of United States dollars and Euros currency and exchange rates required.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Microsoft office, world, and power point, etc.
  • Experience in Hotels, cruise line or hospitality industry related field preferred.
  • Required to operate basic office equipment including telephone, computers and copy machines.
  • Cash handling experience and an understanding of United States dollars and Euros currency and exchange rates required.
  • Working knowledge of computers, internet access and the ability to navigate within a variety of software packages such as Microsoft office, world, and power point, etc.
