PURPOSE OF POSITION

To plan, prepare and deliver an exciting program of events for Viking guests, focusing and upholding the strong company values of enrichment and entertainment, recognizing guest needs. The Cruise Director plays a key role as part of the on board Management team, recognizing and embracing the wider operation of the ship and upholding VOC standards

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Professional Skills               

  • English speaking
  • Strong Leader, team player and an inspiration to others
  • Good communicator, confident and knowledgeable about all aspects of the ship operation
  • Smart, presentable, friendly and approachable – the face of the ship
  • A strong host with perfect social skills and a positive outlook - problem solver
  • Works well under pressure
  • Strong Computer & Microsoft experience - Excel and Word
  • Actively participate in the life of the ship as a member of the Cruise & Entertainment Department
  • Be knowledgeable of shore side arrangements, shore excursions and local highlights
  • Uphold and participate in all safety and security requirements as a crew member
  • Ability to MC events on and off stage

Guest Excellence

  • Maintain, uphold and execute the Viking quality and Service Standards
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and report issues, concerns and suggestions

Mindset & Values

  • Be well groomed and of positive personality and focused on delivering 100% satisfaction
  • Adhere to schedules, always setting good standards as a leader of the entertainment department

Communication & Coordination

  • Report to the Hotel Director and coordinate with other department heads
  • Be mindful of the guests inquiries, requests, complaints and respond immediately

Leadership

  • Ability to schedule the department, being aware of the operational needs of the ship and other departments
  • Training of Team members to the standards set by VOC
  • Supervision and Management of the Team

YOUR PROFILE

The Cruise Director is experienced within the Entertainment industry and has strong administration and social skills with colleagues and guests, leading by example to set and maintain the Viking standards of excellence
