Description

** CANDIDATES MUST HAVE SHIP EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW **
The Destination Manager is responsible for the ultimate guest destination satisfaction, whilst complying with all budgets and executing tours and debarkation in a professional manner.



Key Responsibilities

Destination Administration:

  • Manage recruitment and assignment of competent escorts and follow up on tour escort reports to ensure quality control.
  • Provide and verify local printed materials with port information to the Seabourn Square.
  • Verify invoices and authorize payment for all shore excursions/private arrangements/ shuttles/and disembarkation arrangements.
  • Manage and direct disembarkation and baggage handling process and related administrative duties.
  • Follow and execute Hotel Policies as set in the Hotel SOP and Memorandum.
  • To be familiar with and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to their position.

Destination Services:

  • Responsible for effectively promoting, selling, administering and managing Seabourn Cruise Line’s shore excursion, overland tour, private arrangement programs and debark process while meeting or exceeding guest expectations and budgeted revenue/profit goals.
  • Supervise all shore-related Seabourn Square activities and liaise with Chief Purser.
  • Ensure guest services are up to date on all current port and tour related materials.
  • Confirm tour and private arrangements and timings with shore tour operators in a timely manner.
  • Assign and supervise duties to Assistant Tour Manager and communicate with Guest Service Specialists in the tour related areas, to ensure efficient and smooth Seabourn Square guest services.
  • Manage dispatch and tour operation, check critical tour components and recommend improvements. Work with tour operators to survey new tour opportunities.
  • Manage an efficient shuttle bus operation where applicable.
  • Maintain Seabourn Square hours consistent with itinerary needs and maintain office and office equipment in good working order, including filing/administration systems, computer systems, guest sales and service materials, order forms, promotional literature and port information.




Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education:

  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, and preferably one other modern language (Spanish, German or French).

Experience:

  • Familiarization with main highlights and attractions of each port as well as the ship’s docking location relative to each.

Knowledge,Skills & Abilities:

  • Willingness and personality to work within structured shipboard environment. Flexibility to report to multiple supervisors and perform multiple responsibilities. Comprehensive understanding of details of tours offered in each port.
  • Ability to interact with upscale and demanding clientele
  • Team oriented and ability to function effectively with ship and Shore side personnel Standard accounting skills, ability to comprehend & reach Sales Budget 


Physical & Travel Requirements

Physical Demands:

  • For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities shall be maintained. Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift.
  • Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job.

Travel Requirements:

  • Passport – valid for a minimum of 6 month Flag state issued seaman book
  • General flag state or flag state approved marine fitness medical United States C1/D visa
  • English Marlin test at minimal score of 80% Pre-employment medical examination.
