Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all Food & Beverage stores, ensuring accurate recording, rotation, and secure storage of inventory in line with company standards and public health requirements.
- Control, issue, and document inventory to operational departments in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all movements are properly authorised and recorded.
- Monitor stock levels and consumption trends, proactively identifying slow‑moving, overstocked, or critical items and promptly informing the F&B Storekeeper and relevant department heads.
- Support regular stock counts and reconciliation activities, investigating and reporting any discrepancies in line with company procedures.
- Participate in the internal loading and unloading of stores items, including last‑minute orders, ensuring products are handled, labelled, and stored correctly.
- Report any technical or equipment defects within the stores area and follow up to ensure timely resolution to minimise operational disruption.
- Assist with USPH and other public health pre‑inspections, maintaining documentation and store areas in full compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with F&B management and other onboard departments, responding promptly to internal requests and queries.
- Ensure all inventory and product control policies and procedures are consistently followed, supporting cost control and waste reduction initiatives.
- Promote a positive internal customer experience through friendly, professional behaviour and a collaborative approach to supporting onboard operations.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, ensuring equipment and storage areas are kept in good working condition and in compliance with safety policies.
- Follow all timekeeping rules and accurately complete ILO and other required records in a timely manner.
- Perform all assigned duties within the General Emergency Organization and Emergency Response Organization, participating in drills and trainings as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- At least 2 years of experience in a large Food & Beverage stores or warehouse environment, preferably within cruise, hospitality, or similar high‑volume operations.
- Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage storage, preservation, and stock rotation techniques (including FIFO) to ensure product quality and minimise waste.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of public health and sanitation regulations (e.g. USPH or equivalent) and their application to F&B storage areas.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with inventory systems, stock reports, and reconciliations.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in recording, issuing, and controlling inventory movements.
- Good English language skills, both verbal and written; additional languages are an advantage in a multicultural environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively during busy loading and turnaround operations.
- Motivated, proactive, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility for product quality, cost control, and operational support.
- Personable communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a warm, professional manner when dealing with internal customers and teammates.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural team, demonstrating respect, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, health, environmental, and security compliance in all aspects of the role.
- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods in a shipboard environment.
