I am looking for Casino Supervisors with cruise ship experience to work onboard one of the largest cruise lines in the world.

Supervises the activities of the Casino gaming table such as Blackjack, American Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker, Dice and related services by performing the following essential duties.

Responsibilities:
• To support the company mission of sustaining “the world’s ultimate premium cruise line with a taste of luxury,” all duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with company Pillars of Safety, Service and Style, ISM/ISO and SQM standards, USPH guidelines, and environmental regulations.
• Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues and throughout the ship.
• In accordance with company Pillars of Safety, Service and Style, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow shipboard employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and crewmember areas.
• Monitors casino floor operations. Circulates among gaming tables to observe operations and security to ensure harmony and courtesy. Observes Casino staff during the operation of casino games to ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service and that correct procedures are maintained. Identifies rule violations or notes potential security problems. Observes pace and accuracy of dealing procedures to ensure all casino games proceed smoothly and properly according to Connections standards and Casino Operations policies. Maintains a proactive approach to prevent or solve problems. Informs Casino Management and casino staff of disruptive players and potential security problems.
• Serves as host to guests in the casino. Greet guests, extends courtesy and provides helpful information. Explains and clarifies house rules to guests requesting information.
• Observes and calculates transactions to verify dealer payouts. Resolves disputes regarding wagers, payouts, gaming procedures and casino policies.
• Opens or closes tables according to business demands; makes decisions regarding table limits according to appropriate guidelines.
• Trains and monitors casino employees for proper service according to company standards. Provides on the job training to strengthen their current performance and preparation for possible advancement to promotional positions. Notifies Casino Manager regarding work schedules and time records.
• Supervises staff to ensure company standards are implemented. Under time constraints or staff shortages, assist crewmembers in preparing gaming tables.
• Distributes necessary gaming equipment at the beginning of each shift; verifies drop boxes are locked onto tables.
• Prepares accurate reports in a timely manner according to Casino Operations policies.
• Participates in casino table counts, reports or paperwork as scheduled by Casino Manager.
• Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work related activities as required.
• Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
• This position is responsible for cost containment through the proper use, handling and maintenance of records, reports, supplies and equipment.
• Conducts workstation spot checks to ensure items are correctly stored to minimize deterioration and waste
• Monitors and manages the various assigned workstation functions. Monitors the assignment of duties and responsibilities to his/her staff. Observes and evaluates staff and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service are met. Makes recommendations regarding personnel actions such as new hire requests and discharges, to ensure adequate and continuous staffing. Inspects workstations, work areas, equipment, etc. to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
• Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to his/her staff to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement.


Hiring Requirements:
• Minimum of three (3) years dealer experience with Blackjack, American Roulette, Caribbean Stub Poker, Dice and other related table games.
• Must have 1-2 years as Casino Supervisor on ships. Ability to supervised all games, including Dice/Craps.
• Ability to perform mental arithmetic calculations quickly involving monetary units and calculating odds and percentages.
• Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment regarding gaming rules and regulations.
• Ability to observe and recognize payout accuracy, Dealer behavior and associated activities.
• Satisfactory completion of Gaming Board/Commission approved dealer school.
• Ability to utilize customer service skills by exercising authority and discretion to satisfy guests in manner consistent with company standards.
• Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function. Ability to supervise an international team of Dealers in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees as they work. Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or recommend termination of employment.
• Ability to learn the financial aspects of a casino operation, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost control. Demonstrated aptitude for the management of headcount within assigned area, as it relates to and supports the business needs of the vessel.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety software packages such as Excel, Word, and or related programs.
• Completion of high school or GED required; university degree preferred.
