2nd Engineer to Expedition vessel

Duties include (but are not limited to): 

 The 2nd Engineer performing duties as an Engineer Watch Officer (EWO) in the Engine Control Room (ECR).

The 2nd Engineer Watch Officer (EWO) is the Chief Engineer’s representative and is primarily responsible, at all times, for the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of machinery affecting the safety of the ship during his watch.

The 2nd Engineer Senior ("Day Officer") is responsible for the maintenance of machinery area and safety equipment onboard as instructed by the Chief Engineer.

Oversees the operation, maintenance and repairs of Engineering personnel during his watch. Assign and perform duties as necessary to ensure the engine room is a safe working environment in operational readiness. He is on call 24 hours a day for emergencies or other than normal operating conditions. Always follows procedures rules and regulations as defined on the SQM system.

QUALIFICATIONS

2nd Engineer’s License

Maintain current STCW certification. Completed Advanced Fire-Fighting training.

General knowledge skills applicable to the various systems on board Company’s vessels. Ability to interpret ship's plans and prints, draw engineering plans and prepare job orders. Good communication skills.

Ability to plan projects, assign priorities, resolve problems and to work with out supervision. Ability to supervise others.

Good English.
