About the Role
We’re currently seeking an experienced 2nd Engineer to join a leading international cruise line. You’ll be part of a skilled technical team, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all engineering systems on board. This is a hands-on role where your expertise and attention to detail will contribute directly to the smooth running of the vessel.

Your Life On Board
As a 2nd Engineer, you’ll play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting essential ship systems. You’ll support the Chief Engineer, ensure safety standards are upheld, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks in line with company procedures. Your role is vital to both guest comfort and ship safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over and carry out the engineering watch according to company standards and protocols
• Maintain familiarity with all safety systems, including Hi-Fog, fire suppression, sprinklers, bilge systems, and other emergency equipment, including manual operation in case of system failure
• Perform maintenance and checks according to the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) in cooperation with the Chief Engineer
• Stay up to date with the latest safety, environmental, and company regulations, ensuring full compliance
• Report relevant changes, issues, and observations promptly to the Chief Engineer
• Carry out responsibilities and duties as outlined in Annex 1 “Resort Distribution”
• Act in line with the Chief Engineer’s standing orders and any instructions given by deputies
• Support a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on board by following HESS regulations and health protocols, reporting any violations immediately

What We’re Looking For

• Must be EU-based and eligible to work within the EU
• Valid 2nd Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• Recognized marine engineering qualifications and STCW certification
• Previous experience as a 2nd Engineer, ideally on large vessels or cruise ships
• Solid technical knowledge of shipboard safety and emergency systems
• Ability to follow strict procedures and react effectively in emergency situations
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental protection
