AVT/Stage Manager (small ship/yacht)

The Stage Manager of Scenic Eclipse is responsible for all technical aspects of entertainment, including managing the box, speakers, microphones, visual signage, iPads, background music, mixers, and more. Their duties include setting up events around the yacht and being on standby to assist with any technical issues.
Entertainment is hosted in two main areas: the theatre and the lounge. Additionally, there are occasions when entertainment takes place on the outer decks, in the Yacht Club (restaurant area), or off the ship for special events. Due to the yacht's small size, typically only one event occurs at a time, which differs from larger cruise ships.

The Stage Manager/AVT is solely responsible for running the entertainment evenings, including managing lights, sound, screens, and video recording simultaneously. Key responsibilities include:

• Serving as a sound technician for production shows and events.
• Designing and programming lighting for production shows and events.
• Operating A/V equipment.
• Collaborating with IT to resolve issues with broadcasting or digital systems, such as digital signage and BGM systems.
• Troubleshooting or repairing guest and crew TV screens.
• DJing up to four evenings per cruise.
• Running lectures and other events.
• Setting up and packing down onboard events.
The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, the capacity to think on their feet and troubleshoot issues, be a good team player, and have an enthusiastic attitude. Proficiency in QLab, lighting design, and sound mixing is essential.
Onboard, you will have a single yacht cabin with a shared bathroom. The salary for this position is $3,120, with contract lengths of four months on and two months' vacation, where possible, due to long voyages.
