About the job
Responsible for delivering an exceptional gastronomic service for our travelers in accordance with Grand Circle Cruise Line (GCCL) standards, while contributing to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• leading, coordinating, supporting, motivating, training, and evaluating galley team
• monitoring and ensuring culinary service is up to the highest standards
• responsible for organizing “mise en place”, appropriate storage, and keeping of goods
• responsible for hygiene in the galley in accordance with HACCP regulations
• actively supporting and assisting culinary and restaurant team
• responsible for ordering food as well as stock, cost, and budget control
• participating in on board events and interacting with guests
• any other duties advised by Corporate Chef/Hotel Manager

Skills/Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of relevant job experience, preferably on passenger ships
• Ability to manage the international staff in a positive and productive manner
• Friendly and energetic attitude
• Proven leadership abilities, communication skills and a proven ability to achieve the highest level of service and quality
• Ability to manage the international staff in a positive and productive manner
• Extensive knowledge of food handling procedures with regard to public health standards
• Fluency in English
• For non-European candidate visa might be required based on embarkation port
• Seaman book
• Certificates (at the expense of employee):
• Basic Safety Training (STCW Code VI/1)
• Security Awareness Training (STCW Code VI/6-1)
• Passenger Ship Safety (STCW Code V/2)
• Ship Cook’s certificate a requirement by the MLC 2006
• Yellow fever
