Contract duration – 7 months

Main Function
The Shore Excursion Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, promoting, and supervising all shore excursion activities on board. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences while achieving the department's sales targets, managing the Shore Excursions team, and ensuring smooth operations in every port of call.

Qualifications
The right person for this position should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Shore Excursion Manager or in a similar management position within the cruise industry.
  • Fluent spoken and written English plus at least three additional European languages (German, Italian, Spanish, French or Portuguese are highly preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent sales, customer service and complaint-handling abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of shore excursion operations, ports of call, tourism products and destination management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Computer literacy; knowledge of Fidelio, Microsoft Office and related systems is considered an advantage.
  • Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificates.
  • Valid passport and Seaman's Book (preferred).

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Shore Excursions team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Manage all shore excursion operations, ensuring excursions are organized safely, efficiently and according to company standards.
  • Promote and sell shore excursions while maximizing departmental revenue.
  • Provide guests with accurate information about ports of call, tours and destination experiences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local tour operators and destination partners.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints and special requests professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all excursion activities comply with company procedures, safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Monitor daily sales performance, prepare operational reports and analyse revenue results.
  • Coordinate embarkation, disembarkation and tour logistics with onboard departments and local operators.
  • Train, coach and evaluate team members while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Participate in emergency drills and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
