Main Function

• Lounge Butler is responsible for delivering an exceptional and personalized luxury experience to MSC Yacht Club Guests in the Top Sail Lounge and One Pool areas.
• Ensures that food and beverage service, amenities and the overall presentation of the Lounge and pool areas consistently meet the highest Yacht Club standards. Takes full ownership of the cleanliness, appearance and atmosphere of the assigned areas while anticipating and responding to Guests' individual needs and preferences.
• Acts as an ambassador of MSC Yacht Club, providing attentive, discreet and highly personalized service to ensure every Guest experience is exceptional and memorable.

Qualifications

• Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently and courteously with international Guests.
• Minimum 2 contracts as a Bar Waiter/Waitress on board an MSC ship, including all relevant cross-training completed on board.
• OR at least 3 years of experience as a Bar Waiter/Waitress in a 5/6-star hotel, luxury resort or cruise ship.
• Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits and food.
• Excellent social and communication skills with a natural ability to interact with Guests in a professional and discreet manner.
• Refined manners, etiquette and a warm, welcoming personality.
• Confident, well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Resourceful and solution-oriented, with a good understanding of conflict resolution and Guest recovery.
• Experience with POS systems and good knowledge of electronic devices / SMART devices.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Basic Safety Training (STCW) and all required certificates and documentation in accordance with vessel requirements.
• Additional languages such as Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese or German are considered an advantage.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides personalized, attentive and discreet food and beverage service to Guests in the Top Sail Lounge and One Pool.
• Ensures that all food, beverages and amenities are of impeccable quality and properly presented before being offered to Guests.
• Maintains the cleanliness, presentation and overall look and feel of the Top Sail Lounge and One Pool at all times.
• Anticipates Guests' needs and preferences and provides a highly personalized service throughout their stay.
• Provides Guests with accurate information regarding onboard and ashore services, facilities, activities and itinerary.
• Communicates Guests' personal preferences and special requests effectively to other MSC Yacht Club departments and team members.
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, food and Yacht Club services in order to provide professional recommendations and assistance.
• Handles Guest requests, concerns and complaints promptly, professionally and discreetly, reporting issues to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager when required.
• Works closely with the MSC Yacht Club team and other shipboard departments to ensure a seamless and flawless Guest experience.
• Uses POS systems, SMART devices and other electronic equipment required for the efficient delivery of service.
• Follows all MSC Yacht Club standards, Public Health guidelines, environmental and safety policies.
• Continuously develops knowledge of the ship, itinerary, onboard services and facilities in order to provide Guests with accurate and comprehensive assistance.
• Maintains impeccable personal grooming, professional conduct and refined service etiquette at all times.
